A New DAWN

January 18, 2015

Warning: There are spoilers ahead if you are not current on Mad Dog Chronicles - the Sequels, or any part of Mad Dog Chronicles.

Stop reading now if you don’t want to know how it all ends.

If you’re still reading, you’ve been warned...

And they all lived happily ever after?

I wouldn’t say that. Most of the characters have moved on to the next chapter in their story.

Stephanie is now running the agency that controlled her life. It’s a different agency with her in charge, and she now has a lot of responsibility on her plate. She is the one who decides who to send on missions and what missions are approved. It’s a lot for anyone to handle, but she has a good Recruiter to help with the decisions. Who did she “hire” for the suddenly vacated position of the Recruiter? Declan Tierney, the Irish Intelligence agent, Kerry’s former Handler and brother-in-law.

Andi married Jonas on December 31, 2014. Having him back in her life has made her a better agent. But it’s possible she has the same “fertility issues” her Aunt Stephanie had.

Carolina has embraced her role as Healer.

Max has a son? Do Kerry and Max find him?

That will be learned in the upcoming Kerry Page spinoff. I have a rough idea in my head about what happens, and I think it will be the right ending for both characters. I’m still developing the story, so anything could change. I can say that it is set almost entirely in France. I’m hoping to work on it soon, but I’ve got a lot on my plate.

And Maddie is a full-time Guide?

Not full-time, but she does work with Carolina. If I decide to write any stories with Carolina as the lead character, I’m certain Maddie will make an appearance. But I don’t know if that will happen.

I can tell you that Maddie married Jake in Goose Creek on August 9, 2014. She is expecting a baby boy, Jacob Alejandro Patterson, on March 21, 2015. She works full-time as a glassblower, with her own studio. It’s a fact that never actually makes it into the story until the end. She has a “brother” who helps watch the studio and Madigan while she works. (Wasn’t it fun to see Pavel Chudinov again?)

Jake is the Head Guide, keeping the Guides separate from DAWN and the Cleaner. He is technically Maddie’s boss in her role as Guide. I’m certain that makes for some fun dinner conversations.

Maddie is free from DAWN control and Jake is free from the Cleaner, which allows them to finally be together.

What about Drew and Donna?

I can’t answer that right now, either. Donna has her spinoff trilogy that takes place during the end. What I can tell you is that when Drew makes it home from Germany, he finds his wife and children missing. She has her own adventurea and I can’t wait to discover them.

So, what’s next?

I am literally in the middle of continuity revisions for the entire Mad Dog Chronicles saga. I know I changed a few facts while writing the Prequels and I need to fix it within the original story. After that, I have one final set of revisions before submitting Mad Dog Chronicles to iTunes. I have a crazy schedule for this year, but I plan to submit Mad Dog Chronicles - the Prequels to iTunes about six weeks later and Mad Dog Chronicles - the Sequels about six weeks after that. Between then, I’m returning to St. Augustine to learn the rest of Murphy’s story. And I have a couple romance stories I can’t wait to share with the world.

I have a hard time sticking with a schedule, but my New Year’s Resolution is to be on iTunes. That’s why I picked a picture with a beautiful blue sky and blue water. This year, I anticipate a lot of good things ahead. It may not be smooth sailing, but we’ll get there.
