Pandemic Pause

March 1, 2023

I didn’t realize it has been so long since I last touched my website. I know I’m not the only person whose life was turned upside a few times over the last few years. What have I been up to since I posted A Halloween Story?

Let’s see… 3 cancer scares, my asthma got completely out of whack, I lost loved ones, ended up with covid (maybe twice?), and had a bat in my apartment. And a bunch of other crises I had to deal with. Like a lot of people, I had to work from home (day job). And being home all the time brought my creativity and inspiration to a screeching halt. So I turned to music to try to cope… And then my asthma kinda took my voice away.

So I returned to writing. I finished the novel I started before the pandemic and released it. I didn’t realize there was no mention of it on my website until this past week. So I have a lot to talk about in the coming weeks. In addition to wrapping that up, apparently with no promotion, I also wrote several short stories.

My summer release this year is a collection of those short stories. These stories are written, so I can talk about them now. After reading thru a lot of my old blog entries, I realize I should probably only write about what I’m currently working on or wrapping up. I think the saying is something like “we make plans, God laughs.” I think I’ve given God a lot to laugh about over the years.

Here’s what I can share about what’s coming up in the next few weeks…

Next week, I’ll talk about that novel I released in 2021 in between bad asthma weeks.

The following week, I’ll explain why Be My Valentine and A Halloween Story are moving off the website. And I’ll share the music that inspired me while writing them.

The week after that, I’ll debut a brand-new story that will be replacing Be My Valentine and A Halloween Story. It was inspired by something that happened in the last three years that I never thought I’d be able to write about.

And the following week… I’ll begin talking more about my collection of short stories that is coming this summer.
