Welcome to Day 15 of promoting my latest release - Time for Love. I’ve been working on this collection for about four years. The romantic collection has twenty short stories - ten about how a couple got engaged and ten about how a couple met. The story I’m going to talk about today is Key Lime Pie, a short story taking place on Labor Day 2011.
Jasmine has lived in Key West for seven years. Her patience is starting to wear thin with JP, her boyfriend of most of the seven years. She’s ready to make it official or end their relationship. What does he want? You’ll have to read the 12th story in the collection to find out.
How does this story relate to other stories in the gagengirl universe?
Jasmine’s friend Sofia was created while prepping another one of the stories in this collection. (She is the sister of a character who does not appear in the story.)
JP owns the scuba diving business with two friends. One of them is Melora Sargeant, whose brother is Make Me a Match’s Nick Sargeant.
What can you share about Jasmine?
Jasmine grew up in St. Croix and moved to Florida to study to be a meteorologist. After finishing school, she managed to get a meteorology job in Key West. She met JP’s sister first and his sister introduced them. After dating for almost seven years, she’s starting to lose her patience.
And what can you share about JP?
I was watching a lot of Death in Paradise when I named him. He goes by JP, but his full name is Johann Paul Oliver Prince. He is living his dream life.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about this story?
It’s a romance, the story of how Jasmine and JP got engaged. One of my editors listed it as her other favorite story in the collection.
